Fresh out of college in 1968, Emanuel G. "Frenchie" Defraites, started Reliable Disposal. Frenchie played offensive end for Tulane University and his love of Tulane and their football team is where he adopted Reliable's green and white logo with a football-esque shape. His son Robert and grandson Robert Jr.  have been continuing to provide services to the New Orleans metro area since he passed in 1998.
